Livestream chaos, plaster birds & the auction that never was 🐦
Share
It was an evening full of anticipation. The camera was rolling, the lighting was right (well, almost), and I – Sabine from Cozy Nook Atelier – was ready to start my very first sales livestream. Spoiler: It was an evening I won't soon forget. For all the wrong reasons.
The Grand Entrance 🎬
People came. Really! I honestly hadn't expected so many to log into the stream. My heart did a little happy dance. And then I showed them: my handmade plaster birds. Delicate, full of detail, with that typical Cozy Nook warmth that you just can't buy – except, of course, from me. Or so was the plan, at least.
The reactions? Hearts everywhere. Comments like "How cuuuute!" and "I want that one!" rained down on me. I beamed. The plaster birds beamed. Everything beamed.
And then… the Auction 🔨
"Alright, let's start the auction!" I announced confidently into the camera.
Silence.
Not in the chat – that was still buzzing. But in my head, because at that moment I had a very important realization: I had absolutely no idea how to start an auction.
I clicked. I searched. I smiled bravely into the camera, while internally scrolling frantically through menus. "Just a moment…" I said. And another. And another.
In the end: no auction. No sale. But a lot of entertainment for everyone involved – including myself, if I'm honest.
What I Learned (besides humility) 🙈
- Test the tech before the livestream. Really. Not "I'll just take a quick look," but a real dry run – preferably with someone watching and laughing before the public does.
- The plaster birds are a hit. I officially know that now. And that's actually the best part of this chaotic evening.
- Failing with humor is also an art form. And I seem to be quite good at it.
What's Next 🐦✨
The next livestream is definitely coming – and this time with a functioning auction, I promise. The plaster birds are waiting. And I'm practicing diligently so that next time, not only hearts will fly, but the birds will also find a new home.
Until then: Thanks to everyone who was there and laughed along. You're the best. 🤍
